Preparing Your Gun Safe for Moving Day

Getting your safe prepared for a move will help in reducing the man-hours it takes for us to unload, secure and haul your heavy item(s). That’s why we’ve compiled a few tips to help you help us move your safe smoothly:

Remove the valuables in your safe. This includes the guns themselves and any ammunition. Pack them in a separate box/container yourselves, or inform your mover, before moving day, of additional high-value items that need attention.
We are not legally able to move your rifles, pistols or other firearms, even if they’re family heirlooms. Moving the valuables yourself will ensure they will not be damaged.
Is your gun safe bolted to the floor or wall? Please allow us easy access to the bolts.
Please clear a path and ensure there is plenty of working space for our movers.
Please secure a backup location if you’re moving your safe from room to room.
If we have not completed a walkthrough, please measure any entryways to determine if more space is needed to move the safe.
If there are stairs to navigate, we need to know how many flights our movers will be traversing.

I greatly appreciate Mickey Brooks for his professionalism and expertise for our move. We spent 20 great years in our old home a had valuables that meant the would to us. This company provides excellent in home etiquette and patience while in home. We had the buyers final walk thru on the same day as our move and there wasn�t a mark left on the walls or the hardwood floors. This company does a fantastic job of prepping our home and the also provided us with in warehouse storage for 2 weeks. Very prompt and professionals. The HuberWimot company handled our move from Vienna, VA to Winchester, VA in October '24. They did an excellent job and were very punctual with everything -- from the time they said they'd arrive to start the move to the day and time they said they'd deliver to Winchester. The moving team was very kind and STRONG. They never complained and were all very respectful of our house, belongings, and their other team members. They all operate as a well-oiled and FAST machine. The sales rep Mickey Brooks is one of THE BEST reps I've ever worked with. He was kind and honest, made sure all information was clear, answered questions, anticipated future questions, gave us packing tips, and more. He was also VERY responsive via text, calls and emails.
